With the extensive development of buildings and infrastructure in Myanmar, especially Yangon, the use of glass is increasing.Major projects using glass include Sule's Centrepoint Towers Hotel,Sakura Tower and Myanmar International Convention Centre.A growing number of upcoming construction projects in Myanmar are following the modern trend of using more glass, leading to a surge in demand.

Myanmar is expected to see more major projects break ground as foreign direct investment surges, estimated at more than US$3.5 billion in the current fiscal year(2017-2018).The value of the country's construction sector has expanded from$8.2 billion in 2015 to$13.5 billion in 2020.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win stressed that FDI is crucial to Myanmar's infrastructure sector, special economic zones and industrial zones and ultimately contributes to the country's economic development.

As more and more money is invested and new projects will begin, industry players must be able to keep up with the latest material, technology and business trends. As Myanmar's building and construction industry(including industrial, residential and commercial projects)is growing exponentially, this presents many opportunities for the glass industry.
